Week 3, Day 5 — Hills

After a couple of days recovery from the flu, I finally felt well enough to run again. I was supposed to do speedwork on Friday, but today I decided to substitute some hill work.

The neighborhood my wife grew up in has quite a few hills, so I thought that would be a good location. I only managed to do a couple of miles, but I think it’ll be a good prep course for the Bluegrass.

The top of my left foot started hurting during the run, the same spot that bothered me during Monday’s long run. I hope it’s not something serious. I’ve had a stress fracture, but this doesn’t feel like that. I have a very high instep, and that may have something to do with it, I don’t know. I’ll try to keep some ice and ibuprofen on it and see what happens.
